My name is Sofia Leyerle and I am the Zeta Tau Alpha Philanthropy Chair. As part of my position, I work to make sure our chapter is educated on our national philanthropy, Breast Cancer Education and Awareness, and provide opportunities to raise money and give back to this important cause. In addition to our national philanthropy, we also give back to our local philanthropy, as well, the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center.
We are passionate about our philanthropy and hope that we can make a difference for the 1 in 8 women who develop Breast Cancer, while consistently enforcing our belief that no one has to fight alone.

Breast Cancer Education and Awareness
As members of the sisterhood Zeta Tau Alpha, we are committed to a cause that goes beyond what we do on campus. Aside from the amazing benefits of sisterhood, loyalty, and support, we also know that a huge part of our purpose and responsibilities as Zetas is to give back to our National philanthropy of Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. Breast Cancer impacts so many lives and has become personal for so many women inside and outside of our chapter. Breast Cancer is developed in 1 in 8 women in the US, making it the most common cancer for women. Through hard work, education, giving back, and raising awareness, it is the mission of Zeta Tau Alpha to one day help diminish this statistic, one pink ribbon at a time.
White Violet Gala
One way that the Gamma Psi chapter has raised money for our National philanthropy is with our annual White Violet Gala, hosted in the Fall over Parent’s Weekend at TCU. This is a silent auction with a wide variety of donated items, where families and friends are able to gather to bid on items, while also giving back to our important cause. This upcoming year the White Violet Gala will be held on September 30th and we are so excited to continue to raise awareness and fundraise for our philanthropy.

Mr. ZTA Pageant
The Mr. ZTA Pageant is our annual philanthropy event hosted each October. It is a competition between the other Greek organizations on TCU's campus. During the week of the Mr. ZTA Pageant, TCU Zeta hosts various profit-sharing events with local restaurants and small businesses in the Fort Worth area to further promote breast cancer education and awareness. We are very passionate about our philanthropy and we look forward to continuing to make a difference in the lives of the men and women who have been affected by this disease.
